Im looking to see if anyone has or knows anyone who builds led retro kits for biocubes? I'm getting a used 14 gallon and don't really want to use the compact fluorescents. I'm good with diys so any direction on even building it myself would be helpful! Thanks a bunch

I've been looking into these for a couple weeks now.

You have rapidled, nanoboxreef, and Stevesled. Seems like the last two are the better build quality.

Someone else also mentioned using sbreeflights but they require modifications to the hood.

Have you used that in a biocube 14? I have been looking at those to upgrade the leds I'm currently using. I am concerned about it being a spotlight since it would be so close to the water.

I have not used those. But I am contemplating piecing one together just for a tinkering project. It looks pretty quality.

To tell you the truth, I just bought an AquaIllumination Prime HD light and I couldn't be happier with it. It's got awesome spread on it. Controllability is second to none. Beautiful shimmer. I would remove the hood or cut it to fit the AI Prime HD. I can't say enough good about this light. I honestly can't.

You can buy them on eBay too.

We are using the CP in our 8 gallon biocube, and all of our coral is very happy. We have 1 gsp, 1 mushroom, 1 zoa, and 1 hammer.

Yeah, I have 2 trulumen pro strips and a cluster of 4rb and 3 white free 3w leds on a controller in the center of the hood.
This tank is fishless and I'd like it to be my coral quarantine but not sure I have enough light for some of the sps Id like to put in the display. Waiting for my name to come around on the club's par meter list. I've been looking at those blueacro pucks, but they have some strips I think may be better suited for the biocube..

SB Reef lights will do them. Check their facebook's mobile uploads section and you can see. Looked pretty clean.
