What can people tell me about the Bio Cube tanks? I recently purchased a 14g. Pros and cons?

Hi!

I have the Bc29 and my biggest complaint is the small water volume making it a lil' hard to keep water parameters in check sometimes but if you keep up on water changes and have an ATO you should be good.

SPS corals are a lil' harder to keep on stock lighting but have successfully kept LPS corals.

Are you planning on modifications?

By the way ...

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome! I have a 14 gallon Biocube and one the issues that they can have is they can run pretty warm because of the hood and lighting in the hood. I haven't had any issues with this, but I know other have. I upgraded my lights in my hood to a retrofit from Nanobox Reef so I could have more control over the lights. The stock lighting worked fine in mine while I had them though. You can always remove the lid if you want, which will keep the tank a little cooler, but will also cause more evaporation, so you'll have to top it off more frequently. I've actually had less problems with parameters and such with my Biocube than my 68 gallon, but then again my 68 gallon has been kind of a nightmare since I got it (but that's a different story for a different day haha) Good luck with your new cube!

I too have a BC29.
Upgrades include:
InTank basket
InTank fuge
JBJ magnetic light
I removed the trap door and cut eggcrate to fit there. I installed a muffin fan to cool my tank.
