Does anyone have any input regarding whether or not it’s ok to put bio filter media in my return chamber of my IM Nuvo Fusion 14 Peninsula tank? I would be using Sera brand glass bio rings. My heater will be in there as well so I guess I’m also asking what the heat tolerance of the nitrifying bacteria is. My return pump is very powerful and has a high turnover rate. The reason I’m doing this is because I want to go minimal in the tank and use the middle chamber for either a skimmer (not likely because it’s a small tank and I actually follow water change schedule) or add more bio media to that chamber. Thanks, friends!! Hope everyone is having a great winter!!

Probably not ideal but shouldn’t hurt anything.. I would put the bio-rings in a bag so if you need to service the return pump you wont have to dig them all out of that chamber.
