Can anyone tell me what volume of Bio Pellets are appropriate for a medium stocked 125 mixed reef? I am looking at the JNS Alpha 1 and it comes with 250ml of pellets.
Thanks.

The answer is: a rediculously small amount to start off with. I’m talking filling the reactor with only 1/4” of pellets. Also, if you don’t have phosphates & a protein skimmer in your system, a biopellet reactor won’t reduce nitrates.

Thanks for the replies and the link. Typical with JNS.....no instructions or guidance at all. I have PO and nitrate is off the chart. I am trying to find out what volume of pellets I should start wit and work up to. Thanks again.
