Hi guys. I'm having the age old battle going on in my aquarium. I'm battling nitrates. I know there's a lot of opinions and true testaments on what works. I have built myself a diy bio pellet reactor in hopes of battling nitrates. My question is how soon will i see results in decreasing nitrates?

Gonna take some time. 4-6 weeks. I would get it up and running and in the meantime get it down with water changes
That's what I've been doing so far but i got a finger leather and an anenome that are madder than heck

How did your nitrates get so high in the first place? Heavy feeding? New live rock with a lot of die off?

I've been using pellets for years, and they seem to start really working after about three weeks.

I would set it and let it go for 8 wks. That's what most manufactures recommend, I starting seeing a difference after 10 weeks. Now I have to add No3 to my tank. Go figure, adding nitrates:rolleyes:
