What are you using to cover the bottom drain? Do you have to moderate the return pump to avoid overflows, or can the top drain alone accommodate?

I welded a piece of abs to the inside. I upgraded the pump to a mj so it's even faster now. no issues with the slots keeping up.

@Kfox93 reason i love the heater has a digital remote that reads temperature and always keeps my tank at 77-78 even when my house is at 65 when im away. Titanium is the one i have and has overheating protection. As far as the the light schedule ill get it when im home.

What's the benefit of covering the bottom drains? Can you explain surface skim?

It forces more water to enter the back overflow area from the surface and pulls any stuff on the surface into the filter.
