Okay guys, I've given up the idea of keeping my lid on my biocube. Some day, I'd like to upgrade to a bigger tank. So I'm gonna go for the sleek 'rim look'. I'd also like a way of preventing my clowns from jumping out of the tank, as they have jumped before. I'd like to stay as close to $200 as I can. So far I've looked into these:

$108 - Euphotica Dimmable

$160 - Kessil 150w

$240- Kessil 160w
http://www.amazon.com/Kessil-A160WE...TF8&qid=1453689462&sr=8-1&keywords=kessil+led

$199 - Ocean Revive t247 (only concern is how to mount to my biocube 14)
http://www.amazon.com/OceanRevive®-Arctic-T247-Spectrum-Dimmable-Aquarium/dp/B00YOYD3K2

$200 - aqua illumination prime
http://www.marinedepot.com/AquaIllu..._(AquaIllumination)-3Z4813-FILTFILDPO-vi.html

$289 - (on the pricey side...) maxspect razor
http://www.amazon.com/Maxspect-Razor-R420R-Lighting-System/dp/B00CX2W3KS

Any others that may be better than the ones I listed? Would like to be able to program the lights, but I'd also like to keep as cheap as possible without sacrificing quality

If the AI is enough light it may not be a bad light. The first one looks like your average Chinese black box and one of our sponsors rebuilds them and puts a larger spectrum in them for a little bit more. I own one and my colors on my SPS are doing great so far. He'll answer any questions you may have. His name is Mike @SB Reef Lights you can also look through his selection at https://sbreeflights.com.

Thanks for the reply! Just curious, which model do you own? And what aquarium do you have as well?

SPS growth is important to me, since I have a couple already growing under my fluorescents

I have the basic. It's over my 50g frag tank. But he has other options for smaller tanks plus they're dimmable. Upstairs on my display I have lights from www.rapidled.com. They actually make a retrofit kit that goes in the lid of a biocube. They're pricey but very nice. If you were to go that route and you're not great with electronics. I suggest the extra money for the solderless version (I'm pretty good with them and I would still go solderless :)) but that route you could keep your lid, which I think is a big part of the biocube personally.. But on the SBlights he has a nano light that would probably work great.. Shoot him an email. He's always super helpful on getting you any information you need.

Mine you can see here ;)
