i am planning on keeping some sps so my question is if I keep them up high will the factory LED be ok? If not I am considering removing the hood and either doing an AI prime or Radion but not sure which would be the best for think tank as it will be a mixed tank with lps

Thank you

I don't recall what lighting they are using these days but on my 29 gallon cubes I took out the lights and added a retro LED kit. One I used a pre-made from Steve's LED's and the other I mounted a heat sink and went custom LED's using a mixture of Cree's from Rapid LED. This way I could keep the hood in both cases. Both packages let me keep pretty much any type of coral be it soft, lps, or sps.

The only drawback was the light cover plastic would yellow or get dirty so about every six months I'd have to polish it up again.

Yea on my previous BioCube 29 I did the rapidled upgrade and it worded great for all types of corals... the Biocube 16 now has led already in them but now sure how good they are... was thinking of not doing a retro fit as I may upgrade tanks in the future and would like to use whatever light I get on a new tank or frag tank
