Biocube 16 return

Does anyone know a good return pump for a biocube 16?? i want to get a upgraded one and keep the stock one as a spare.

Either the cobalt or marine land MJ series pumps are great. I have a BioCube 29 and run a MJ1200. Cheers

Ive been seeing those, the cobalt is sold out everywhere and the MJ900 has 50/50 reviews.. but i can’t find anywhere where it says it fits 100%

Yeah I dont know what happened to cobalt. I only used theirs and they disappeared. So I’m using a marine land and it’s been fine for months now. I think there are threads with people talking about pumps they’ve used. Sometimes it’s a shot in the dark but has to be done.

Those are way too large to fit back there. They’re too big on a 29 even. Also aren’t available until the end of the month. Price is high for what it is too.

I like the sicce sincra pumps. I have a 1.0 on my 10 aio. You could use a 1.5 in your 16 or higher if you don’t have any low flow things.

I think 1 would be fine in a 16
And they are cheap and easy to find

You have 2 for filtration? Or one is for flow?

I tried the syncra silent. Just wasn’t impressed. Great pump I’m sure. Just wasn’t the best for my tank.

I like the sicce sincra pumps. I have a 1.0 on my 10 aio. You could use a 1.5 in your 16 or higher if you don’t have any low flow things.

Regretfully, only the 1.0 will fit even in the 29. Great pumps. Just too large for the BioCube.

I modified the false wall and drilled a second hole for another return.
both returns are in the same back chamber, they are stacked on top of each other.
it’s mainly for flow in the tank without taking up extra space in the DT but it does make the water go through the filtration faster.

That’s super rad! Would love to see that! I’m running a gyre in my 29 and love it.

I will take exact measurements when I get home. But I did my research when I bought the1.0 for my oceanic 29. Maybe the newer cubes are larger.

1.0 does fit and provides pretty good flow! Imo i feel like if the 1.5 does fit it would be too much

Do you have any pictures or videos of the 1.0 in there? My stock pump is just obnoxiously loud, to the point I just called coralife and they agreed. I’m getting another new stock one but would like one for backup as well.
