Any recommendations on mods or upgrades for the filtration?

I'm going to roll with the light it's comes with now.

Only going to put 2 clowns, BTA, and a little clean up crew in there.

The media tray is kinda hard to pull out of chamber 2 so was thinking about going with the intank basket.

Let me know what you think....

I couldn't stand the media tray for the exact reason you mentioned. I went with the intank basket and like it so far. Sicce return pump was a nice upgrade.

Lighting and flow inside the tank are the two only upgrades that matter. I never used a media basket in my biocube, just dropped in carbon or gfo bags as needed into the void.
Id get an ai prime as a cheaper upgrade and a used mp10 set to its lowest setting and that would be a pretty balling biocube. Thats how i had mine setup but had an old Ai nano on mine. Add an auto aqua micro ato and youre all set to grow whatever you want!
My old 14g biocube was heavily stocked and was a joy to care for.

I have a prime hd in my basement lol

Just don't want to put it on there cause I'm not trying to grow anything. Gonna toss in a bta and clowns that's about it.

Guy I got the tank from gave me a bunch of live rock with it. Put it in the tank was filled with mushrooms and bambam Zoe's. The stock lights really aren't to bad.

It's not bad at all, much easier than the original rack. Just lift up the water diverter out of the way and lift the basket out.

Your clowns and nem would thank you for the full spectrum lighting. Nearly as bad as sticking you in a heavily lit room and telling you its outside and thats the sun!
Just my honest opinion and if you already have the fixture...use it! Perfect application. Thats what they created the prime for!

Are you able to remove this or am I missing something? This is the first chamber where the water comes in.

I don't recall seeing anything like that in our 32. But I do remember someone talking out removing a false bottom or wall in theirs but I'm not sure who it was or exactly what it was they removed.
