Our new percula has been a fantastic addition to our tank. Buddied up with our big female percula right away. Zero aggression from the two and they are nearly inseparable. The turf scrubber I added seems to be working great as well.

A few new additions to the system and tank as well since my last post. I have finally upgraded to an apex classic and have it all set up. I have also acquired 2 new corals. A friend gave me a frag if pink lemonade acropora and a good sized chalice. I don’t recall the name of the chalice. A gave him a few mushrooms and a frag of setosa.

Things have been running well lately. Have seen a lot of growth with my sps corals over the past few months. I have been keeping my Alk close to 8.5. Although it has been dropping to 7.5 sometimes by the end of the week.

Wow.!!!! great looking tank. I ran a 29 biocube for 5+ years. Still one of my favorite tanks I owned. Keep up the great work. I would set it back up, but the wife says 2 tanks is enough.
Thanks! What size tank do you have set up now?

Sad news today. Our ocellaris clown jumped into the back chamber and landed on the filter floss last night. He did not make it. I found a DIY fish guard on this forum https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/biocube-29-fish-guard.253058/ and built one myself. Wish I would have done this sooner. I found a 3 foot piece of gutter guard for $1.50 and cut it to size with a scissors.

I did rearrange some of my new corals on a brighter note.

Sorry for your loss.

I really appreciate this thread and all you've done with the BioCube and critters of all types. I also like how you incorporated a canopy to it.

I have a place in my heart for the old time 14 and 29g BioCubes. I miss having them.

Thanks for the sharing such an awesome thread and excellent pictures.

So first off, great build! Got yourself a nice tank there! Love the custom top you did, and is this a custom algae scrubber you made??

That's awesome! Does it seem to work well for you? I see the install pics, but then nothing else.

Great job!

Thanks....the worst part about loosing our ocellaris was that it was so easily avoided had I just thought about it. But I really like our new percula, and I like that it’s a more natural pairing now.

Wish I could take credit for the scrubber or the canopy. My friend, whom I bought this setup from, built the canopy. Has made life much easier for fitting lights. I have diy lunar lights mounted in the front and 4 blue Cree leds mounted on the sides for some fill. As for the scrubber, I bought that on eBay. The scrubber works great though! Very pleased with it.

125G & 40G,
That sounds perefect. I’m slowly planning out a 40b barebottom. I would like to have it up in about 2 years. Slow going on my small budget. But it allows time to tinker with my plans.

I thought I would add a few pics to show what I have done for lighting in my canopy. I also took a few picks yesterday while doing my weekly water change of the algae growing on the screen of the ATS.
