Biocube 29 in Ponte Vedra Florida

Hi, I'm going to use this thread to post blog-like updates on my Biocube. Day 1 for this tank was August 23, 2015 so I am now at now at day 69 and so much has happened and so much has been learned.

I'll start this first post with some current pics of the tank.

Guess you got your numbers under control. So your over in PVB? Im over by Black Hammock. Also babying a Biocube 29. Luckily we have several good reef stores here in Jacksonville.

Everything seems very happy in the tank. I've had two setbacks. Setback 1 was an outbreak of ich that quickly killed my Orchid Dottyback over about a four day period. I pulled out my other two fish (a Yellow Watchman Goby and Darwin's Clownfish) to put them through a tank transfer treatment. On the 4th transfer I got a little lazy and accidentally killed both fish (I think I mixed and measured their saltwater wrong). That was a bummer because both had improved and were eating well. So now the tank is a fallow reef only tank until probably early December.

The second setback was a mild overdose of Red Sea alkaline that hit two corals really badly. One was a lunar play that is rebounding nicely, the other is a chalice frag that is still receding and I am afraid won't make it.

I go back and forth between BioReef and CoralLogic. Do you have a favorite here? I feel like CoralLogic runs a cleaner shop (more healthy fish).

I also frequent both Corallogic for fish and Bioreef for coral. Bioreef for pricing. So I guess I can say Bioreef for the win. I do have to admit I buy more online now.

Here is mine, work in progress as always. Changed out the hood for LED Hydra 26HD.
One of the best changes Ive made to the tank.

@RareEarthCorals What did switching to the LEDs do for you? I'm still running under my stock lights? How does your tank look now?
