STAGNANT WATER:
Hey everyone. I recently placed a Aquamaxx HOB 1.5 on my tank, and am loving it. I have noticed however that due to the increased flow of this, the overall level in my display has dropped due to the Maxi-jet 1200 not being able to keep up with the additional flow in the rear compartment - Overall not a big issue.
The one issue I AM having though, is that the water agitation in compartment #2 is keeping the surface clear of bubbles, however I am not getting stagnant water in chamber 3. To combat this, I think I'm going to be taking an razor to the wall separating chamber 2 & 3, and cut it down to size, that way the surface agitation can go back and forth to all 3 chambers.
ATO:
My other current issue is I had my float valves for my auto top off in the rear chamber of my tank. Now that the HOB is adding more volume to the rear chamber,it does not seem like the water level is dropping in the rear chambers, and is only dropping in the main display. I'm not sure if there will be a work around to this other than placing the float valves in the main display area. My only other thinking is getting some sort of timer that can run my little ATO pump (tom aqualifter) for a minute or two every few hours to keep up with evaporation, OR getting an even more powerful pump than that Maxijet 1200, but I don't know what that might be that would still fit.
Let me know if any of you other AIO users have had an issue like this.
