Just sitting around waiting for the cycle. Here is the scape I decided on for now.

Looks nice. Now you need to get really good at waiting. Don't jump the gun on this one. Your future success will be directly related to what you do now and how well the bacteria adapt to a changing environment. Good luck!

Thank you. Right now my ammonia went down to 0, but no2/no3 are still high. It’s at the week mark now. Slow at steady.

BRS 150gpd upgrade kit arrived today. Also nitrite cycle appears to almost be over. I skipped a few days of checking parameters before today. I will probably start mixing 20or so gallons of salt water this weekend. By the time that’s ready, hopefully the cycle will be over. The photo for the test is a little dark, it is actually a lot lighter.

Well the time has finally come. The nitrite cycle has finally come to and end. In all, the cycle took 2 weeks with some jumbo shrimp and bottle of bio-spira. Going to start ording my fish/cuc right after the holidays. I have thursdays and fridays off of work, so i will most likely order xmas eve/ xmas day so it will ship out the day after.

So the cycle is completed and i won't be adding any fish/corals for another week with the holiday shipping schedules. Should i run my media in the baskets now? or wait until i actually put fish in there?

I would to see what effect, if any, the media you plan to use has on water parameters. Also, if you are going to use good bacteria harboring media such as Matrix, MarinePure, etc. you'll want to begin the growing process.

And, as you know, it will take some time (months) before your tank stabilizes; just because API tests indicate that present bacteria can handle the expected load, doesn't necessarily mean you won't have some issues.

Good luck

the only good bacteria i plan on using is chaeto in the back ruge basket, but that won't be here until thursday/friday. I am also aware of the api test kits. I ordered a few salifert test kits from brs a few days ago.

Well pods and chaeto came earlier than expected. Was supposed to get here Saturday, but I guess that’s what happens when I live an hour away from algaebarn. Box was packaged excellent. Mail man didn’t want to look at the box though and placed it on its side.

i just noticed it has been a while since i posted. I currently have fish and coral in the tank! CUC is supposed to get here tomorrow. I also put some braes below the tank. These Biocube stands aren't pretty sturdy and my kids are always by the tank/stand. I needed it to be more stable for piece of mind.

Stock list:
Fish:
2 black and white clown fish, 1 misbar
1 six line wrasse
1 royal ramma
1 spotted goby
1 cleaner shrimp
4 turbo snails

Coral:
Zoa
Duncan

ATO came in today. I also bought 20lbs of dry aragonite from petco. I wanted 30 but they only had 20 in stock so I’ll have to get a different store tomorrow.

Rocks still had a faint smell of bleach to it. I emptied the bucket and added clean water to it and more chlorine remover. Going to test the rocks again tomorrow afternoon.

You'll love this ATO!

Everything is looking awesome.

Quick update to the tank. Added an anemone crab, Duncan, zoa, frogspawn and a toadstool. I also rearranged the rockwork a little bit.
