would there be anything wrong with cutting holes into the wall that divides the 2nd and 3rd chamber?

I have the aquamaxx ws1 skimmer and I think that’s the only way it will fit without compromising the hood.

my alternative would be to cut into the intank media basket and cut into the top of the hood so the skimmer would stick out of the top.

hoodless is not an alternative for me as I have a retrofit light installed in the hood

Nothing wrong with cutting a bit of divider between chambers.

If I drain the back chamber and then drill a hole, then use a wire saw to cut, I don’t think it would be too bad
