I just ordered the intank media basket and was wondering would filter floss, sea chem purgien and chemi pure blue would be the best setup or would there be somthing I should replace the chemi pure blue with somthing or the purgien? now I’m just running filter floss and chemi pure blue in the media basket it came with

I just run filter floss in ours. I run chemi pure blue when I feel its needed.

I gave up on the skimmers for this tank along time ago. I never felt like they performed, weekly WC's work well for me.

Weekly changes in that size of a tank is very easy. I reserve tank time on Sundays for consistency and routine.

Is there a certain way I should have mine positioned? I got mine the other day when I got my first fish and put it on the front glass pointing straight toward the overflow chamber

You will just have to play around with it until you find a spot where you feel your getting good flow with your scape. I have mine on the left side (behind the acclimation box). I have been using the icecap 1k for sometime and I'm still pretty happy with it.

Try it vertical in the left corner. That how ours worked best.

I now use Blue Life’s ClearFX Pro media instead of ChemiPure Blue.

I have never heard of Blue Life's, something new I can read up on. Thanks for sharing

Yeah, a buddy turned me on to it. I just have my anecdotal evidence. I was having a high PO4 issue, I believe it was a result of a tank move. The ClearFX got me down to .03 from .43 over the course of 2 weeks and 3 water changes. I usually do a water change every Saturday of 5 gallons. Never has much of an effect on my PO4 so I think it really helped. Supposed to last 4-6 weeks. We shall see.
