Maybe for a second, any other shrimp I put in other than skunks get shredded in less than a minute. Blood red ( twice), coral banded ( twice), peppermint, sexy shrimp RIP.

Has anyone installed the intank refugium in their Biocube? If so how do you like it? Thanks.

Rob
Hey Rob, I haven’t but I’ve read a lot that have. I know they use the middle chamber. Might want to start a thread and see if at least one chimes in to help you out.

What to do, what to do. I’ve noticed my little acan colony hasn’t looked the best over the past week. I got up last night as men my age do and took a peek in my tank. I new this day would come, my Rasta Rampage chalice’s sweeper polyps were pummeling the acan. I’m going to move the acan. That leads me as to what to do with my with my chalice. It has become my center piece. 1. Leave it be and move any affected corals as it continues to grow ( will still eventually need to be fragged) 2. Frag it now and leave everything be?

Frag it but keep the frag until I'm ready and then send it to me.

Na I’ll just give it to you when you are here for March Madness.

Were you running a sterilizer on your cube? Long ago I bought the little Coralife one meant for it but never hooked it up. Don't have ich but wondering if it would be good to just run it for preventative methods to avoid it. I know it will cut down on free floating algae. Just seems so small if it would benefit much. I think it was 5w. I could see a large one working on the big tank.

Ya, it is small and I did put it in when I had ich. I don’t know how affective it is but I did notice I was going longer between cleaning my glass. I don’t think it is a necessity.

I figured it would enhance the resale value later. I had their skimmer since the lid could still be used but after a few days of cleaning it like every 30 minutes I removed it. Have the in tank split and since I never did the refugium I might switch it back to get a few more days of not changing a floss. Did do a GHA pinch off though then a water change. Liking the big tank so much better. Next thing is to get water changes easier. Since it's under a balcony, I'm think gravity feed the new water to avoid lifting anything. The old water just pump right out the front door. (going to be lots of cats near the front door)
