Biocube 32g build

Just noticed my tuxedo urchin somehow added green star polyps as a hat. Those are coming off before he drops them somewhere I don’t want them.

This is the birdnest today as compared to when I first got it. The growth is kinda shocking. I’ll have to do some fragging by the end of the year. Cheers

I have a birdsnest and it has doubled in size in just 2 months! Grows way faster than anything else I have including sofites :astonished-face:

Ya, caught me by surprise! I have probably fragged it a dozen times. The owner of my lfs is starting to give me a funny look when I walk in with a bag in my in my hand. To the right is a torch that was given to me because it was on its way out. It has doubled in size and the birdsnest stopping growth on that side.

This looks amazing. Well done. Definitely going to follow the updates.
Thank you! Although I had been in the hobby for 16 years and jumping back in, I had so much to learn. As a matter of fact still learning and probably always will! It doesn’t help that I went to public schools!

Awesome tank I just got one myself will be setting it up after the holidays, let me know if there are any recommendations on the stock stuff it comes with do i need to upgrade any equipment? Thx!!

Thank you for the kind words! I based my filtration on the YouTube video “Coralife Biocube Basics, simple filter modifications .” I’ve added the stock uv and protein skimmer. The skimmer takes a long time to dial in but is always helping with gas exchange. If I could stress the most important part is please start with real live rock! I know the initial investment is more but it will save you from buying chemicals, equipment and anti depressant medications from the never ending battle with algae. In a 32g , the amount of rock you need is not much. I know the dry rock scapes are absolutely beautiful. Go back to my initial post, my scape is blah in comparison. Go to my last DT picture and you can’t even see the scape anymore. I am always available to bounce ideas off, feel free.

Alright, I’ve been sick for over three weeks and was in the hospital last week getting discharged in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. My family went to my wife’s side of the family Christmas Party. I was asleep at 9:15 pm. Tank hasn’t seen a water change in 3 weeks ( causes me anxiety, I’m one of those wierdos who enjoys doing water changes), that is being fixed today. Finally got my prints mounted, my wife and daughter helped but didn’t seem as pleased as me. Light is lacking due to the Christmas tree taking the place of a table and lamp.

Still looks awesome and glad you are out of the hospital and feeling better!

Thank you, I think it is all in my head, all I think is “ nutrient export and trace mineral import.” It’s a disease, I should have been on a different floor at the hospital getting shock therapy.

Sorry you were sick but glad you're doing better. Your tank is beautiful! Serious goal for my nano build.

Easy to be genuine when something moves you.
Thank you Kev for your prayers and support of my lil ocean build. In my mind, my tank will look as successful as yours, but I will enjoy either way.
Plan on buying corals during Black Friday weekend and plan on a few fish so my Christmas-time update will be of substance.
Any updates on your purchases? Pictures?
