32 gallon biocube.

Been up for 10 months. Wife says from the other room, "Emergency! Fish Tank Emergency! It is leaking! Real Bad!"

Buckets, tubs, total disaster. Livestock in buckets with bubblers and some live rock. Will re-home them tomorrow. The bottom pane of glass is cracked from the right front corner, all the way to the other side mid-tank.

Pretty sure, I quit...

Oh man! So sorry to hear that! My biocube 32 is actively leaking as well. I did a tank transfer yesterday to prevent this! Omg I feel for you, call roto router, they will clean up the wet for you so it doesn't ruin your house.

I felt your pain as I read your post - I had a 120g split a seam this past year. I'm thrilled that you were able to save the livestock!

Thankfully, we caught it immediately. I am very thankful that I was home to deal with it. Actual damage is minimal. Hope the livestock makes it to the LFS tommorrow.

Argh, this sucks, I am back to wondering what is on sale...
Will my LFS have sympathy for me?
Can I, should I try and salvage it?

I have like $500 worth of useable equipment and about $300 worth of live stock.

The spend for a new tank will be between $150 and $300.

And I need new sand... This sucks.

If you're in the NE Ohio drive-able range I will give you a 46g bowfront you can have until you work something out.

That is very kind of you. I used to live between Cleveland and Akron about 25 years ago...
Guess I will get back to work on the time masheen..

Thank you for your kind offer.

Long term, it generally happens to us.

That really sucks about your tank, hopefully you aren't so bummed out you're leaving the hobby. The biocube does have a one year warranty, they sent me a new power supply for mine within the warranty period with no problem, you should probably give them a call

I stopped in to give an update. I did contact the manufacturer and they were great. They sent me an entire new biocube with no hesitation. I was very pleased with how they stood behind their product. I was impressed. Great company.

In the course of our discussions, they did mention that technically, using a stand other than the one manufactured specifically for the biocube voids the warranty. However, they wanted to honor it anyway. I am very appreciative of how they handled the situation.

Never heard if this on a Biocube. Is tank LEVEL?
There are a couple used ones out there as these tanks are reliable/dependable. Use this disaster to regroup and come back stronger!!

I have seen a few other instances of this type of failure. Tank was level, surface was flat. I have decided to divert effort and funding to other hobbies. Kind of hard to watch $1,300 and 10 months of effort washed down the drain in a matter of 15 minutes. It was fun while it lasted.

Disappointed to hear but I understand

Well, thank you, but I would not be disappointed on my behalf. It has been a calculated decision. It was not made in haste or anger. I can say that I was pretty emotionally effected by the surrender of my livestock to the LFS in order to save them. They were my pets, and it was painful. I did the right thing, and the decision to do something different is the right decision for me. Thank you for your consideration.

Well, after a 3 year hiatus, I am pleased to be getting back into reefing. Innovative Marine 25 gal lagoon should arrive on Tuesday. I thought I was done forever. A big thanks to all the folks on here that have helped and encouraged me over the years.

I think I will do a build thread this time.
