Biocube Filter Pump Emits Electricity in Water

When I plug the pump filter into a surge protector, the water creates a shock when I touch the water. Everything else plugged in is fine. I purchased a GFCI adapter, but it still causes the problem.

I would hate to buy another filter unit, since the built in was the main selling point for the Biocube. Anny suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You need a new pump, plain and simple. It's not safe to keep using the one you have.

New pump, any other option is unsafe and could kill you. Sorry may not be what you want to hear but there is no other option.
