Hi everyone. I wanted a quick opinion on something. I just set up a nano biocube (16g) and was debating whether I should use the stock light, or instead strap on a Kessil A80 that I have lying around. While I'm leaning toward going with the Kessil, I don't really know enough about how the stock LEDs compare. ( I only plan on keeping softies and LPS)

Thanks!

I don't know about the stock lights, but I've yet to see a tank come with appropriate lighting out of the box :) If you already have the Kessil, I think you'll be very happy with using that instead.

Depends on what corals you plan on having. Stock lighting is enough for lps and soft corals. I don't believe either of the lights will be sufficient for high light SPS that demand 300+ par. Kessil is by far a better light and you can tune the color to you liking. If you plan on getting SPS you will likely need a new light anyways.

Yeah, no plans for SPS in this tank. Appreciate the input.

I can grow almost whatever I want with 3x 36w PCs in the 29 bio cube. Which lights come on these?

Stock LEDs of some kind. I don't really know much about them. That's cool that the pc's can grow nice stuff though. I ended up going with the Kessil and I think it looks awesome.

I would do an A160we Tuna Blue. Enough light for anything
No doubt! That's an awesome light. But since I already had the A80 I'll stick with it. For such a small tank and basic corals I think it'll do the job.

I have stock lights in mine, and can even grow easy sps. Lps do very very well.
