BioCube owners - who's using the Steve's LEDs upgrade?

I just ordered this, and I'm wondering if anyone has any installation tips, gotchas, or suggestions for the lighting program. I'm keeping softies and LPS, so I will probably be keeping the intensity fairly low.

Steve's said they come preset close to what the stock light on the Biocube run. Installation was extremely simple. If you can drill one hole you have it licked. What contoller did you go with?

The Hurricane X. I didn't feel like ponying up another $70 for the Bluefish.

i have the kit with the bluefish controller. Super easy setup and controlling the lights.

I done the hurricane x. Once you mess with them it's not to bad. Instructions are weak.

I love the LEDs that they use. I have built several systems for different tanks using the different parts from Stevesleds. Their drivers are very good and the quality of what they sell is high. Good support from them as well.

It'd sure be nice if they'd get back to me. I got the order confirmation right after I placed my order a week ago, and I haven't seen a shipping notification. I emailed them yesterday morning to ask about my order status and haven't received a reply. Anybody who's using these recall how long it took to ship?

I actually had to call them when we ordered ours. They had a backlog at the time, probably took them 2 weeks to send it out.

It took two weeks or so.

I ordered some parts last Wednesday and emailed yesterday and nothing. This has never happened before. I have ordered several time and usually get a shipping notice that day or the next. Makes me worry about them being OK.

They just responded. They said the order was shipped out on the 14th, but the tracking number they provided shows USPS hasn't received the package from them yet and shows that the shipping order was generated yesterday. I've emailed back to ask them to double-check the package is in track and hasn't gotten lost in the shuffle somewhere. Hopefully I'll have it by this weekend!

I just talked to them via messenger and they are slammed busy. My order has a tracking number but will ship out tomorrow. Bit behind, but I can deal. I am just glad they are busy and sticking around.

Looks like USPS has now picked up the package and it's estimated to be at my house on Friday. Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend!

I ran one for a year. Blues at 90 and whites at 60 and I had amazing growth on sps and Lps. I switched to ai prime lights and haven't had nearly the growth rate since.

Steve's led is the best money spent on a biocube.
