Biocube plastic shield cracked

So I installed steves led retrofit kit into my biocube 29 a few weeks ago. There was one tight fitting spot against the clear plastic shield, but I thought we were ok. Well apparently not, I now have a crack in the shield. What do I do? I’m assuming this is kinda a big deal bc moisture can get up to my leds. Can you get replacement shields? How?

Is the plastic the same for a 29 as the 32? I have one in the garage collecting dust and never plan on using the hood again.

Hmmm, I’m not sure. I would assume they’re probably different since the over tank dimensions are different?

Coralife has excellent customer service. The piece you are describing is called a splash guard.

Sent an email to them tonight since it was past their open hours. But their website references another site for replacement parts and that site doesn’t have shields.

Definitely a thought and my husband mentioned that too......

I would say it's worth a try. You can always (or should be able to) take it off with a razor if it doesn't work.
