Just a quick question regarding filtration.

I am currently using
- 1 filter sock, two bio sponges (mechanical);
- 1 small ball of bio balls, 1 small bag of Seachem De-nitrate (biological);
- I do not use protein skimmer anymore, it is too loud

I am planning to increase biological filtration to host both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria which to process nitrate as well. Can you suggest what are good?

How about Biohome Ultimate Marine (they look porous which supports both bacteria)

How about any brand of ceramic rings you would recommend or any others?

How about Purigen (chemical filtration)? Is this good? Will this kill anaerobic bacteria which I read from some articles?

Would appreciate if you can help :)

I use Aqua forest Life Biofil in a reactor. Added 4 fish to a recently cycled tank and ammonia stayed at zero.

consider getting an algae scrubber. i dont know how noisy they are though.. maybe just turn the skimmer off at night?

i have lots of bio media and honestly i dont think it does a great job at reducing nitrates. maybe it just takes years i dono..
