So. The other day my wife and I were going down the rabbit hole of youtube and found this video

I was like OMG that is awesome and magical like something out of Avatar or a movie.
Fast forward to today and my wife surprises me with this! (she is the best!)

https://biopop.com/products/dino-sphere

It uses Pyrocystis fusiformis and come in a pouch. The Dino's them self's look like pods in a blue mouthwash and do not resemble anything like the bad dino's i'm used to seeing in the aquarium industry.

I'm not going to lie I am way stoked about this new toy but part of me wants to be a mad scientist and dump a bit into my reef tank and just "see" what happens.

The only things that concern me are .
A- I have to lower my tank temp as I have it at 77 right now but I don't think my corals would mind going to 75 to bad (controled via apex) and

B:would my skimmer just remove these things.

C: would my aquarium and refugium lights be to high for them lol

Again the batch I have looks like pods in a cool blue mouthwash not the snot brown we are used to.

Do foresee any negative side effects if I put a little bit in my tank? would they turn into the bad dino's we all hate?

Because lets be honest if it works.... it will be the coolest thing ever!!!!!!

I would say its best kept in the bottle.

Neat idea but......

Never hear of anyone experimenting like this before so results are up for grabs.

Throwing stuff in your tank is just not a great idea full stop.

If it does take a hold, what then.

Do you really want a blue tank....?

It won't change to another species. But who is to say what it might do in tank conditions.

My advice. Keep it in the bottle and use as directed :)
