Biomedia Absorbing Cupramine

hey everyone im treating my quarantine tank that houses one clownfish who unfortunately has velvet. I have a sponge filter in it and Seachem matrix for some biomedia. I dosed with cupramine today, I added the recommended dosage which was 20 drops for 10.5 gallons. I have a salifert test kit bc I couldn’t get my hands on a hanna test kit today, and every time I test the water, it always comes out to 0. Could the matrix and or sponge filter be absorbing the copper?

yes, any of these media and especially carbon will remove copper quickly. Container should specify to remove carbon when treating. Even turning off skimmer

Today I have the copper level at .50 and I took out the sponge filter which was definitely absorbing the copper. Good news is that he is still eating with gusto, hopefully he makes it!!
