Biopellet reactors

Yes, I’m very aware of dosing and controllability. I have tow Neptune Dos connected to my apex and linked to my trident for automated dosing. I’m asking about biopellets because it would be hard to overdose. With carbon, .5 ml extra could easily crash a tank. I’m sticking with biopellets because it’s much safer.
.5 ml extra isn’t going to crash a tank unless it’s a really, really, really small tank. Vodka is not that scary. Did you have a bad experience with it? To each his own. I have a Neptune Dos on my second tank. I prefer the BRS dosing pumps, but that may be more related to the Neptune dosing containers, which are not Neptune’s best product.

My buddy had a terrible experience with it.

They really really work and if you run it too heavily you can steip the nitrate and starve the corals. Also an oversized skimmer is strongly recommended.

I ran on two different systems several years ago with great success. Once I got it balanced out I was able to keep my nitrates down below 2ppm with great coral growth. My reactor discharged right into my skimmer. The key is to start slow and work up until you get your nitrates where you want them. There are lots of people that have cyano or dino outbreaks while running them. I actually used my reactor as the final step in outcompeting the dinos that were in my tank.
