How often do you have to reload your biopellet reactor? And what type of a reactor?
I have a JNS-Alpha-2-Bio-Pellet-Reactor and I use about a teaspoon of biopellets a week.

whoa, you are replacing bio pellets weekly??!! what kind are you using? I've never heard of them being consumed that quickly. I have been running ecobak for over 16 months, and just added 30-40ml to the original 500ml just 2 weeks ago.

Bulk reef supply biopellets. Maybe I need to get more expensive ones

Are u providing just enough flow to start a tumble? Too much flow and you'll cause them to break up and end up in your system instead of in the reactor

This is a decent tumble rate IMO.

I used the BRS brand and didn't have to replace any for 10mo

Ive seen some threads where people with a huge bio load and lots of water volume, have to add pellets monthly, but i'm talking 1500 gallons systems.

You might want to look into trying a different pellet and see how it goes.

+1 When I ran EcoBak I only added more after about 1 year.

I used an old moded zeovit reactor. I liked the fact I could pump it every so often and I only have to lift out the center cylinder to add more.

Yeah the only problem is that it's difficult to turn the flow down on these types of reactors. However my tumble rate is about the same. I'm thinking it's the pellets
I do like how they plumbed it directly into the skimmer pump. Might try to do this with mine

You should only be replacing what is literally being consumed. If you're replacing the pellets because they are literally disappearing then that's the right course, though like the others here, I am a bit mystified as to how that is happening so quickly.

Generally you want the output of the Reactor to go into the Skimmer, it's a common practice for reefers using Biopellets as to grab the consumables quickest, and before it appears in the display.
