I have been taking out pellets from reactor because im dosing phos and nitrate,i feed heavy and have enough fish in my 200 gal
Question. .....
Can i put my biopellet reactor in a bucket of tank water dose a little phos and nitrate to keep it happy and see if my tanks bio filtration can handle it on its own,if not return reactor to sump been dying to try,i think it will, thx

I'd imagine as long as you create an environment suitable for the bacteria to thrive, it would work just fine. However, if I were you, i would only change one thing at a time, that way you have a better grasp on how much change will result from doing this vs that. I wouldn't dose nutrients yet, but thats just my two cents. If you're feeding heavy with a heavy stocked tank, still with low nutrients, I would slowly remove pellets until they're gone. Are you running GFO, filter socks, etc? I would slowly dial each back one at a time. At the end of the day, theres no point in running pellets and dosing nutrients, you might as well just remove the pellets entirely; just one less component to the system you need to worry about. Same goes with other means of filtration.
