Biopellets and Alkalinity with LPS and Softy's

Just curious i have been reading everywhere saying to keep my Alk at 8 with biopellets with SPS coral, do i need to do the same with LPS and Softy’s?

It is preferred but LPS have a little bit of leeway with little Alk swings. I personally have not had Alk swings effect my softies.

i found my alk was running high earlier in the yr 11-12, ive got it back down to 7.8 which is what my salt runs at so that was my target but found my duncan not opening fully? Ive started dosing it back up again over the last few weeks and it seems to be opening out more everything else in the tank seems unaffected either way. thats just been my experience so far : )
