Just ordere a reef octopus reactor and ecobak pellets hope it turns out a good choose I run Gfo now just tired of buying lol
I recommend going slow with this, don't just pull out all the GFO as soon as you have the new reactor in place and running.

How long have you been running the Ecobak Plus pellets? I am about to start up my new system and have been looking into the EP pellets.

About 8 months. I've only run the EP pellets. No GFO or other phosphate removal in place. Mesh sock, RLSS skimmer, passive carbon, and Reef Dynamics recirculating BP reactor, RIP :(, for filtration. I stopped measuring for P at home, since it is goose eggs every time, which is confirmed with the occasional Triton or AWT test. Probably taken up by a small amount of very annoying bubble algae. Totally unsuccessful growing any other nuisance algae though :)

Post a pic I want a rlss skimmer so bad

Here's my sump. Lots messier than it used to be. You can see where the reactor is dumping to the skimmer, and I see in this pic that my mesh is getting dangerously close to the skimmer intake. At least with the DC pumps, they auto shut off if this happens. Don't ask how I know...

And to keep it on topic:

Sounds good... the vast majority of ecoBAK/ecoBAK PLUS users don't need to run GFO.

Nice sump but how bout a FTS??

Not terribly interesting in terms of coral at the moment. Had a rough patch with dinos for the second time. Exterminated them with Fauna Marin Ultra Algea X, but I lost a fair number of really nice frags [emoji26]

I run a 4' tall bio pellet reactor on my 200 gal system. Lazy and don't want to refill so I got a big boy. So long as you have low nutrients to start you can pretty much use piles of pellets. If you have nitrates take it nice and slow with few pellets at a time. My reactor is inline feeding my Deltec recirc skimmer and it works amazing. I run GFO separate to make sure my PO4 is negligible. I like randy prefer liquid, I used to do vodka but biopellets are a lazy mans choice and get the job done.
