Does anyone out there run Ozone with biopellets or zeobak? I am going to experiment with all three within moderation of ozone via ORP probe through Apex controller. I'm hearing mixed reviews with biopellets and ozone but I think once the bacteria is established in the biopellet reactor it shouldn't matter. As far as Zeobak or Mb7, it seems like the ozone can be should off for a period of time to run through the water column.

Any feedback would be awesome!

Bio pellets and zeobak are pretty much the same. Have you thought of maybe a bacterial additive instead of running both of them. I believe ozone was thought to be helpful when carbon dosing first became popular but I havent heard much of people using it with these systems lately. Should be interesting to see what people have to say. Cool thread.

+1. I run biopellets & ozone. I only run my ozone for one hour in the morning. I was told it will keep my water crystal clear. And it is. Not sure if the two work well together though. I do dose AAs and MB7. AAs every day and the bacteria a couple times a week.

Maybe I explained it wrong or I'm misunderstanding. I don't use Zeolites, I just dose the bacteria in conjunction with Mb7 every few days with the skimmer off. This method I've kept my phosphates at .01 with a hanna meter and my skimmate smells horrendous. My 58 gallon tank that uses bio pellets too but no bacteria dosing runs at .05 with non smelling skimmate.
My plan is to run the ozone early in the day to keep the ORP and Ph from falling too much along with keeping the water extra clean. I built a customized reactor out of PVC that will feed into a carbon reactor to keep any ozone out of the system. I initially planned on using it on my Vertex Alpha 200, but hate the lack of control of the ozone plus wear and tear on a $900 skimmer.

Here are a few pictures of the reactor I attempted to paint.

If a mod would like to change "Zeobac" to "Zeobak", it would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry, I was indeed thinking zeolites. This sounds like a good plan to me, be careful though it is possible to strip the water too clean. I don't run ozone though, hopefully someone else can chime in on that.
