Whats a good type of biopellet to use? Im using Tropic Marin currently, but I'm having an awful time getting them to tumble. I went all the way up to a 600 gph pump and it barely moved them. I went and returned the pump and got the new sicce bio pellet reactor, thinking there was possibly something wrong with my old one and it's the exact same thing. My only conclusion is, it has to be the pellets.

How big is the reactor and how much do you have in it? I have about a cup and a half in mine and it's tumbling like a beast at less than half the possible flow.

Make sure your input and output is connected properly. Most reactor's will have a check valve and not allow them to work in the wrong direction.

Sounds like to many BPs for the reactor. I accidently poured too many in mine and it would hardly tumble. Removed all of them and placed @ 300-400ml and my BR83 runs like a charm now, it's rated for 450ml.

It definitely wasn't. The reactor was for a 300 gallon and I only used half the recommended amount to start. It ended up being the Tropic Marin Pellets. I bought a new reactor and switched to Dr. Tims. Tumbles like a champ and half the gph I was using with the old reactor.

Glad you got something to work for you. Now just sit back and let it do it's thing. They say don't touch if for at least 8 weeks. Good Luck!

Thanks. It just stinks because the old pellets were starting to work, but without it fully tumbling I was worried about sulfur building up and being released into the tank.
