So in setting up my new tank, all the rock was removed from my source tank and dried and cleaned. The sand will go over to the new tank, I have some ceramic media balls and bricks that will move over, and since the new tank will need 2X more water, I'll probably move over a good portion of that water.

To help keep things going I'll probably do some light dosing on Bacter7. The one thing I've been considering is should I add a Bioreactor, and if I do, when should I add it? Is it better to start off with one of these to keep nutrients down and maybe lessen the fun starting phase or wait till I get some of that growth going and then fire up the Bio-pellets?

This question really depends on a few things the bioload other sources of filtration and your targeted nutrient levels. I have a seclone protine skimmer and a large refugium on my 75 gallon that is well fed and heavily stocked. The refugium actually bottomed our my nutrient levels and gave me dinos. The only way I could correct this was when my ro membrane failed and dumped tons on nutrients into the tank. I wouldn’t add it first thing. Just test and see if it is needed first.

Ya I keep my bio-load pretty low in the 90G. Skimmer I have is the RSK-300 which will be stretching it a bit in the new system once I get stocked where I want to be. Just been reading up on Bioreactors and seen some consensus is better that start with one than wait till you have a problem, so figured I'd get some input since I've had yet another week delay getting replacement parts for my stand.
