I just got a CB multibar from Biota. She's about the size of a quarter and looks perfect. She's already picking at the LR, and doesn't seem bothered by my lyretail damselfish.

What's everyone's experience feeding multibars? Are the Biota juveniles feeding on pellets and frozen like they advertise, or should I be ready to supplement with pods?

I got one either last week or two weeks ago, I can’t remember exactly but anyway in just a couple hours after arrival it was eating reef nutrition tdo x small pellets and small size thera probiotic pellets.

it’s still eating very well. I have been feeding it several times a day and it eats every time. Helps its in a 10g observation tank and it likes to pick the pellets off the bottom.

That's what inspired me to get her! I'm thrilled that she's fat and perky and eating well.
How are your fish doing? I remember reading that someone with our Lyretail Damsels said they were dither fish to their Multibar Angelfish. Was that your post? I seem to have lost it but would love to quote it. - Felicia

Hi this is about your Goldflake Angel but can you snap a better image of it? I want to see if it’s a purebred specimen. This because in my part of the world wholesalers and retailers often don’t know how / can’t / don’t care about distinguishing between purebred Goldflakes and the Goldflake-Flagfin hybrids both of which Bali Aquarich produce. The pure ones are far superior IMO.

If you can give me some better pics I’ll be able to see if your Goldflake has some defining features of the species.

Best pic I have is day I got it. Of course they are quite small so I don’t know if can tell lineage this young.

from RB article “Even at sizes up to 2 inches, differentiating them from regular A. xanthopunctatus are tricky. Hybrid phenotype usually starts becoming apparent only at 3 inches and above, and that’s where the subtle blend of both species can truly be appreciated. “

I doubt this guy is even 2”

I think judging from what I see so far it’s a purebred. How’s it taking to food? Is it picky / any issues?
It was eating pellets in just a few hours like the Multibar. I bought from biotia directly with it too. It’s much more robust and outgoing than the Multibar right off the bat, also eats quite a bit, enough it’s belly is nice and round.
