Biota Yellow tang availability

Nice!! Mine should be here by the 11th. How’s she look? I wanted a Juvi.

was lucky enough to secure one today. I think around a week or so ago they were available. I got the email this morning and they were in stock for about five minutes lol. Pretty pumped as I’ve had adults before.
Thank you for your order! Yeah this batch sold out in 8 minutes.

The one great thing about buying captive bred and them arriving small is that we have a rough estimate of their age. Wild caught is a big unknown.
This batch is around 120+ days old, they took a little longer to get their yellow coloration but that just means they're a little larger than some of our last batches. I believe the species lives around 20-30 years in captivity.

No thank you for taking the extra steps to help us keep them around for years. You guys ever do a video or anything on the process or is that an industry secret?

I agree. It's going to be a fun experience growing these guys out.

Chad gave a talk on how they do it at a MACNA a few years ago and Eric has spoken about the blue tang culturing process a few times. There's a few papers Chad wrote or co-wrote that also go into extreme details of the process.

We haven't really taken any recent videos or gone through our side of the hatchery over the past few years but maybe one day when I visit the Hawaii facility I'll do something like that with James.

Of course my YELLOW TANG IS NOW AVAILABLE email went into my JUNK folder so no notification!

NEXT TIME!
Thank you for trying! We'll likely have another batch either ready next week or the following and I think we're going to stick with a countdown kind of email going out a few hours prior to them dropping.

@Biota_Marine any chance you know when some regals will show up on the website??
I was hoping they'd be large enough for our shipment next week but it looks like we'll have to wait at least another month. The last batch was super small so they went quickly.

@Biota_Marine i got my yellow in today and it is doing great, sharing a new 120 tank with a yellow scopas hybrid. It showed up well packaged as soon as water Temps equalized it came to life in the bag and I knew it was time to let out. May snag one more next batch

That's awesome to hear, thank you for your purchase. Keep us updated as they grow out in your system we always love to hear where our animals end up.

Got mine last week. It is almost a week now and it is growing and coloring well, eating pellets, frozen foods and nori in a clip. Love to graze the rocks and always out and about.

What pellets & frozen are you feeding?

Saw the email notice the other day about re-stock but I am not ready yet. Will my email reminder stay active or do I need to re-subscribe after every re-stock?
