I purchased this sump in August of this year. I decided to buy this sump because it fits the dimensions of my stand and looked great from the photos. I purchased this sump through a local fish store and picked up at Aquarium Specialty. Upon arriving home (an hour drive) and looking at the sump , I noticed that the sump did not have an adjustable water leveler or a fixed height of a minimum 7" to allow a skimmer to be placed in the sump (see image below).

I contacted Aquarium Specialty and they fabricated a divider to create a fixed height that I picked up the next day(see image below).

As time went on, my skimmer has been acting up. Some days it would skim correctly while other days it would overflow or underskim. I got to the point where I was about to shell out another $300-$400 for a new skimmer until I noticed that my sump had another issue; the divider walls between the return section and refugium sections were approximately .5 cm short of the sump walls and were not glued. Water was going around the sides. I touched the dividers and it shook. (see image below)

You can clearly see the space from the sump and the end of the divider. Water was going around slowly and dropping my water levels which is also why sometimes my Salinity was at 1.023 instead of my normal 1.025 because my ATO was refilling constantly in which I thought was due to evaporation.

Now I have to purchase a new sump or find a way to fix this issue. The fabricated divider Aquarium Specialty made for me is too short to block water the full length. I will chalk it up as a loss and never buy Biotek Marine products again and recommend the same to others. This sump shouldn't not gotten pass a QA inspection.

Update: AquariumSpecialty resolved the issue with the sump and informed me the newer models have been redesigned to include a height adjuster plus fixed the issue my original sump had. No future models should have this issue.
