I had an issue with the hanna checker for DKH as the reagent was close to finishing was showing me inaccurate results.
my tank usually sits at 8.5 but the hanna was showing it had gone as low as 6.0 so I started dosing to bring it back to 8.5. Reagent finished bought a new one now it shows 11.8 ...

so alk has swung a fair bit over the course of 4 weeks.
My bird nest last few days seems to be dying off from random spots not just tips or base but in the middle of the branch. So thinking it’s STN as polyps are just hanging off.
What’s the best way to save this? Shall I cut off all the parts that have gone white or shall I just take tint frags of the parts that looks healthy ?

I would cut off the dead parts and just monitor the rest of it. Hopefully your correction arrests the deterioration. Birdsnest are pretty hardy.

Did the best I could looks like I’ve deleted half the colony doesn’t look so good, I placed pieces on the monitpora my regal tang sleeps in and boy was he mad he picked up every piece and threw it off
