Birddogs 65g Rimless

You should check out RASOC in Charlotte, NC. We're a good club in the Charlotte area. Check us out at RASOC.ORG.

I just spent the last hour trying to figure out how to take a photo that actually represents what I see with my eyes... with a wicked case of frustration I quit. Now I see why there's a photography section within R2R and I'm going to have to spend time learning some photography skills! Joshporksandwich amongst many others here... I already had tremendous respect for you, and now that has just increased. I probably have 60 different corals in the tank (SPS, LPS, Zoas) many of them frags and of the hundred or so photos that I shot only these few came close to representing what I see with my eyes, but even these are not good!

How is your sump looking now that you've added cheato and copepods, any chance of a picture? I'm thinking of getting the emrald 26 for my 40 breeder.

I'm very happy with the sump and the cheato is green and vibrant although doesn't grow much due to relatively low nutrients I would estimate. My copepod population initially exploded to the point where my zoas in the tank we mostly staying closed as I had so many crawling on them and every other coral, live rock and sand in the tank. I've had a Mandarin for bout 6-8 weeks and he has done a fine job of culling the pods down considerably. I have a lot of them (possibly hundreds) in the refugium section of the Emerald Sump and I dose phytofeast nearly daily. With respect to a picture, I am so busy at work this week that it be this weekend before I have a moment to get this done, but i promise to post a photo.

Nice, atm I've got all my equipment hob. With the sponge leading out of the fuge I'm assuming the copeods make it threw. U certianly squeezed that skimmer in chamber one. Lol tank looks beautiful.

I'm still trying to figure out how to take some realistic photos as well as post some pictures to this thread as I'm interested in seeing some progression over time. One very cool coral is a chalice that I've had for a year plus... never really did anything in my old Nano Cube, and I burned / bleached in the new tank as I was raising the intensity of my light. I't just starting to show some promise now that I have moved it to more of a low light area. I recognized it about two weeks ago that the face that was facing the light had loss color, but the edges that were somewhat shaded were showing some real promise...

Very nice pictures, I'd like to get a frog spawn for my tank at some point. How's ur mandarin doing? Does it other food then just copepods?

Our Mandarin ("Jimmy" named after Jimmy Hendrix) is doing very well although pretty shy... walk by the tank and he hides in the rock. He doesn't eat anything other than copepods and he's always hunting and pecking at the LR and LS. He's maintained weight well and I am very happy that he's doing so well... he's been in the tank exactly 8 weeks today.

Just shot a few photos this morning and was surprised by a few changes / progression in my corals.

Picked up a few new pieces over the past couple of weeks and really enjoying the growth of what has been in the tank since I first started stocking just about 7 months ago. My chalice's grow like weeds and therefore I though I would try a little more "uber" biotype. It's amazing what you get (or maybe better stated what you don't get) for the money :)
