I got this birds nest frag about 1 or 2 weeks ago and everything was going fine. Nothing else in my tank is dying or not looking good. You can see the white part on the branch to the left which I think is the dead part. What should I do to keep the rest of the coral from dying?

Thanks

Birdsnest corals are the king of condition notification
We need numbers and lighting type.
Its typical for a birdsnest to die within 2 weeks if the system isnt up for sps

Posted before pics up.
Also I see your possibly no3 deficient

I don't have any test kits right now and there is nowhere near me where I can buy them.
I have a 4 T5 bulbs- 3 blue and 1 white
I am kind of new to sps and the only other one I have is a montipora frag for about 3 or 4 months and it has almost doubled in size so I know I have enough calcium. All of my LPS are also going well.
What is no3 deficient? Is that the amount of light that is reaching the coral?

Its nitrates (no3)
Phosphates (po4)
If you are deficient in these you will see faded coloring

Ok, thanks.
If that is the case do you know how to add phosphates and nitrates to the water?

Without being able to test for it I cant recommend more than feeding the tank more.
Doing this also increases po4 though. (Algae)
So testing should be soon

Ok thanks, I will try to get it tested as soon possible but I don't know how soon that will be because I live in central VA and we still have snow on the roads from the last storm.
