Hi everyone!

I have a birds of paradise I bought from an auction that is currently, and has been for a month, on a frag rack. It’s not attached to anything, basically just branches. Anyhow, my question is where do I put it in my tank? Does it go in the sand or in a rock “hole” ? I know it likes the light where it is on the frag rack and seems to like the higher rate of flow there. Any suggestions?

Mine has done fine in around 200 - 220 PAR with medium to high flow. While it is an SPS, it can do good in lower light, but I would not go too low. Depending on your lighting and aquascape I would glue it to the rocks higher up. The sand would probably not be a good spot for it.

Mine does well in medium flow. Once established and growing, I got some intense green/yellow hues, along with the deep red polyps, the closer I moved it to the LED's/T5s

Are you gluing them? Dont just stick it in a hole bc it wont stay itll blow out or a fish, snail or crab will knock it out. Get some glue, any kind of gel form of cyanoaccrilate glue (crazy glue) will work. If you plan on getting more frags BRS sells the thick glue in a bottle fairly cheap.. I got mine from them and I've gone through a half a big bottle in 6 months and it's still good.
