Sorry not the best image, definitely has what appear to be two tentacles and appear to be buried down inside the skeletal structure turning the body black in these parts.

Starting to notice the same thing on other corals just not the skeletal die off/darkening.

All corals have been in my system for about 2 weeks. All received RO Dip followed by Coral RX Dip followed by Bayer Dip.

When the birdsnet came it it just kind of looked like a bad spot, while the rest of the coral looked fine. couldn't see indications of possible pest. I've only within the last week added PODS to this take, is there a chance once hitched a ride in and didn't die after all those dips?

I would just clip that portion off with some bone or cuticle nippers. That way you won't have that dead portion growing algae and you will also be able to get a closer look at what the critter is. Do you have any wrasses in your tank?

I have to be told that less than one time. Now to figure out what it is that causes this as like I said I see spots with the tentacles on a Stylo and the green acro that came in as well, but not black/green spots yet like this showed.

No wrasses yet, haven't been able to replace the one I lost in the outrage yet since re-starting this.

Do they just hang out ? Or do they twich back into the holes? That would be barnacles.

I find them just handing out throughout the day but if I try to get near them they disappear.

Barnacles are you serious? Aren't those like completely harmless and natural?

THIS is why I

1. Hate sticks

2. Rarely leave the nem and clownfish forum....

Thank you for the help.

Yep barnacles in general are. By they have a characteristic moment despite the type in general.

But yea. That's a nasty worm.

This might explain why on the back side of the stylo that I can't normally see I appear to have a small feathery like Tunicate. I guess they can stay as long as they are good citizens.

Crap not a triple post. Was going to say, I triple dip everything in very serious concentrations including straight RO water and this is the first time I've had an intruder. Frag the plugs, scrub the skeletons, the whole nine. This just appeared to be a harmless dark spot that tissue probably grew over upon inlet inspection.

triple post...

yeah color me shocked, I triple dip everything in pretty serious concentrations and this is the first time I've had something get by. Frag the bottoms, scrub the coral, new plugs....the whole nine. Barnacles though, really.....come on.
I've had several yes.
You've never had one?

And yea I let weird stuff grow on my corals. And yea, I buy weird stuff even if it has some stupid coral attached to it.

Maybe you missed the part about Nems and clowns I mentioned earlier :P

Gimmie a Ritteri or tough Nem, yeah no problem, drop a stick in my tank and I usually kill it before any pest can :P
