This same birdsnest went downhill earlier yhis year, down to a nub. Stuck it to the current rock just to see what happens and it got that big--maybe it'll bounce back after I frag it.

Sometimes birdsnests just melt. I know there's a reason for it but I genuinely can't figure out why. I've had it happen to me too.Yup, this guy is looking worse for wear. Looks like I'll be pruning today or tomorrow.

I am pretty positive all will be well once you cut out the bad bit. I forgot to ask, but is the stylo blocking flow to the birdsnest that may have caused it to get a bacterial infection?
