new to R2R membership but been looking to it for advice for years.
Anyhow, I have a new tank I just set up with the following.
Reefer 350
2 mp40’s at 50% reefcrest opposite from each other.
Varios 8 @ #3 level with a split return nozzle into the tank.
2 radion gen 4 15w
Ramping from 35% 24 intensity with a 6week ramp to 50% which will be 35 intensity on radiant mode.
2 months of perfect params
9 dkh
460 cal
8.1-8.3 ph

Currently fallow due to saltwater fish sending me a white tail bristle tooth tang with velvet... my own fault for not guarantine I will admit.

Anyways
I have a green birdsnest that is directly under the radion at about half way down the tank. The top of the birdsnest is is vibrant and looks perfect but the bottom of the branches that aren’t in the direct light are looking like they’re white. I’m thinking this is due to lack of light but I don’t have much experience with birdsnests. The rest of my corals are looking perfect.
Any experience would be great! Thanks!

Corals will "self shade" which will cause less color on lower branches. This sounds likely for what you have going on and it is completely normal.

Look at the top left corner of my tank. Mine starting doing that after I transferred it to my new tank. You could see the white on every branch. I thought it was light too. LFS said it wasn’t getting enough flow. Moved it to a higher flow area and in about a month it completely filled out.

Be careful. Too much light will bleach out some birds nest. I bleached mine out when I put in too high a light. Always research what are your coral requirements. Put in lower light first To acclimate them, then move into higher light.
