Tonight I saw a big piece of what I though was just part of live rock “move”. As in it wiggled back and forth. When I touched it, it retracted into the rock even more. The piece is about half the size of a baseball. I pulled on it and I could move it back and forth so I knew it wasn’t liverock. I finalled popped it off and it appears to be some kind of bivalve like a clam or oyster? My liverock is from the gulf, TBS.

It’s a turkey wing clam. They’re harmless filter feeders that come on gulf live rock. Very cool. Put him back on the rock and see if he can reattach.

Oh very cool! I’m afraid I may have torn his foot a tad pulling it off. I will see if he can reattach.
