Bizarre, Clueless & ******!

What is your alkalinity and magnesium at? Raising your alkalinity will help to slowly lower your calcium. But if the three aren't balanced then they won't hold at the correct levels.
 
Alk isn't low at 8. 8-12 is ideal. Mag is a 1340. Cal is a 500.

I know it's normal. I was just saying that the 3 numbers relate to each other. The alk is at the low end of the 8-12 range and the calcium is high. Mag looks good. They balance each other.
 
Yea but thing is I have to dose soda ash for alk. But nothin for calcium. That's what's weird.

Same here. I use a buffer on occasion for alk but hardly ever dose calcium because it's never low. I have mostly softies and one lps, so it just doesn't get depleted.
