Found this dead floating in tank last night. It looks like a baby fish with large eyes and tail… but no other fins. About 1.5” long.

Only thing similar in tank is a single huge lawnmower. And if it’s a baby it had to be immaculate conception. Any ideas before I call the Pope?

No long lost firefish or goby that you assumed was dead long ago?

That is a small fish with damaged fins. Definitely not a blenny, and most fish aren't capable of parthenogenesis anyway.

I'd guess it came in on live rock at some point. Or, have you added a big cube of frozen food recently? I've found tiny dead fish in frozen shrimp-type foods a couple of times.

That’s an interesting idea, we feed a frozen block every two weeks or so. Thanks for your suggestion!

Me too, and I like that explanation.
