I have had about 50 pounds of live rock stored for 11 years in a detached garage attic in Ohio. Last month, I put it in a trash can with saltwater between the living and dining room. Heater and pump with two mollies. I'm looking today and much to my amazement, there is Caulerpa growing out of a single rock from just weak light from the kitchen and dining room. Just can't believe it. What's really funny is it brought back a memory of this very rock (odd shaped) I was fighting with to keep it from growing on it. Just really bizarre!
