Looking for some help/guidance with dealing with BJD in my mixed reef. Quick summary...Dec got a hammer frag from member that BJ, it was fragged VERY close to the tissue; within 2 days done. Month or 2 later; had a gliiter goni BJ over night out of the blue. Both times did nothing besides remove frag from tank. Back in May, my 4 year old hammer started losing 2 heads at a time, polyps retract to skeleton. After 4-5 times I read Aquabiomics write up and did a DT cipro treatment at .125 dose, overnight for 6 nights. It seemed to slow/stop in June. Last week its came back with vengeance one head retracting 3-4 heads around it skeleton the next morning. 2 days ago I started again with the same cipro treatment. It seems to be moving fast, taking out head by head. At this point my huge colony looks bad, groups of dead heads all over. All the other LPS in the tank seem to be fine and not having issues.....AT THIS TIME. Is there anything I can do to knock this out of my tank....I have stopped adding coral and or fish to tank...just trying to level this off and get this out of my tank. I contacted Aquabiomics they told me they couldn't do any testing until 2 weeks past treatment. Going to continue the overnight cipro treatment for 7 days and see how it shakes out. Is there anything else you would suggest or do at this time? So frustrated and feeling helpless battling this same issue every month. @AquaBiomics

I've given up on euphyllia for the same reason. Despite best efforts (dipping, re-dipping, etc.) all my hammers, torches (etc.) seem to succumb to bacterial infections (leading to BJD in most instances) within a year.

Everyone of my friends are having the same grief, so I have to wonder if this isn't something more wide-spread.
