BK's will be wrasse and SPS Dominated 120

After two long months in QT my powder blue tang and splendid pintail fairy wrasse are moving into the DT. They are currently chilling in a Synergy Reef Fallout Shelter to help acclimate them to their new tank mates, I'll try for some pics once they're released.

Picked up a couple of used Neptune Dos Pumps and.... The orange and gray don't work for me, stay tuned LOL.

So much better.

Still not much to update.

Was hoping to have a new fish half way through quarantine but had multiple issues with a male golden rhomboid and lost him after about two weeks. ( https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/rhomboid-not-eating.283643/ )

I've been battling issues with the limited coral I do have haven't been very happy. I've been testing 0 nitrates and have only tested phosphates once in my system at .03. So I have decided to take action, since adding bioload due to strict QT procedures, I've decided to remove the biopellets and see where that gets me. I've changed my way of thinking to a certain extent over the last year or so and no longer think a ULNS is the best/only way too have a successful SPS dominant tank. I'll be sure to update any successes or failures.

Glad the system is moving along, and stinks to see you hit a couple bumps since my last post.

I'll be pulling my pellet reactor completely offline soon if you are still interested in it.

Thanks, it'll get there Just have to be a little more patient than I'd like.

I may still be interested in the reactor eventually I'll add the pellets back.

Still no nutrients, pellets have been offline over a month now and I've not had the skimmer off for a few days if nitrates don't show this weekend I'll look into dosing stump remover.

Meanwhile in the garage the QT has been full for three weeks and the inhabitants have been in full copper for almost a week now and are doing very well.

Three fish graduated from quarantine today (been in QT since 2-18.) Including two more wrasses (flame and Rhomboid) and a skunk tilefish. The wrasses are in the acclimation box for the next couple days at minimum, was planning on putting the tilefish in the box but he escaped.

Corals seem to be improving, skimmer is still offline and haven't ran pellets in quite some time. I'm considering not adding the pellets back and getting a chaeto/algae reactor instead.

QT board is a great idea.

I always ran pellets on my previous tanks but decided to try cheato on this tank. Amazing results. Picked up the Mars Hydro light and I'm growing cheato by the handfuls. PO4 is .03 and NO4 is 2-5. Perfect results.

If I didn't have space in my sump, I'd run an algae reactor. Give one a try. May need to dose some iodine however.

Its looking good. I pulled pellets off my tank and the tank got better within a week. Thought it was new tank stuff, but the pellets seemed to have been the source. Good to see great QT practice :)

Thanks.

My memory isn't good enough not to write important things down. LOL

I'll just remove the pellet reactor and add in the chaeto reactor, should be a rather easy swap with the manifold.

I've lost way too many fish to things I could prevent not to QT.

How's the new fish doing since moved?

I released the two wrasses yesterday morning and they both hid for the majority of the day. Later in the afternoon the flame wrasse became a little more bold and started swimming around. I didn't see much of the Rhomboid or the tile fish but they both came out when I fed in the evening. They're slowly working into the mix.

Here's a quick pic under Radions only, one of my favorite corals (Wilsoni) and one of my newest fish my baby Rhomboid.

(Glass isn't perfectly clean and I'm not a great photographer.)
